We were delighted to welcome 61 OBs to The Rag on Monday 9 March for a career and business networking evening.

Over 20 young OBs, mostly undergraduates, took the opportunity to attend a CV workshop. The workshop was given by Verity Smith, a top recruiter at a niche city headhunting firm, who talked about what to include on a CV, document templates and basic skills required to successfully manage an interview.

OBs were then able to join industry round table sessions, each hosted by an OB experienced in their field with 10 industry sectors represented ranging from advertising to property.

We would like to give a big Bryanston thank you to the volunteer table hosts who gave so generously of their time and experience: Ben Broad, Chloe Smith, Alice Lloyd, Richard Gledhill, Dorian Prosdocimi, Toby Hextall, Becky Thurtell, Gabriel Swartland, Rupert Swallow, Steven Zielinski and Simon Blandford.

The round-table sessions were followed by a mix and mingle drinks where OBs could catch up with each other and continue to build their network of professional contacts.

The evening was run by Bryanston’s development office to help OBs share their experiences and knowledge in order to build a mutually beneficial professional network. Building on the success of Monday evening, the OB career and business networking is set to become a popular annual event in the OB calendar.
