OBs win tennis match against pupils

The rain stopped and the sun shone on the OB v Pupil (boys) match at Bryanston on Saturday 20 May.

After last year's match being rained off, I am pleased to say the Old Bryanstonians put out a very strong couple of VIs against the school and a keenly contested match ensued. Both of the matches were 6-3, with the greater experience of match play getting the OBs across the line. Adam Pile once more captained the group after travelling down from Aberdeen for this prestigious challenge. Match of the day was Messrs. Ed Westmacott and Hal Cazalet taking on the school first pair of Archie S and Sam M. An exciting 6-3 6-4 to the OBs illustrated what a great tussle it was. The unbeaten OB pair of the day were Gus Cross and George Petrie, who showed what classy grass court specialists they are. The OB contingent represented a spread of years from leavers from 1974 to 2009. It was a great day for players of both sides and for the many interested spectators who were treated to a feast of fine tennis.

We have a ladies' OB match against the pupils planned for Saturday 10 June and OB v OB on Saturday 19 August, both matches will be played at Bryanston.  If you would like to sign up for one or both of these fixtures, please contact Sam Tonks, Alumni relations Officer, on 01258 484514 or alumni@bryanston.co.uk.
