OBs v pupils (boys) annual tennis match

On Saturday 12 May the Bryanston 1st and 2nd senior boys’ tennis teams hosted matches against Old Bryanstonians from various eras. With the sun shining and the terrace courts primed, the scene was set for competitive matches across the board.

The OBs played the surface exceptionally well, showing the school boys that power is not necessarily the key to doubles when playing on grass. With the OBs heading into the final sets 4-2 up in both fixtures, the school hoped tiredness may kick-in for their opponents. However, this was to no avail and the OBs came out with a well earnt 9-6 victory, taking home what will be from now on the OB vs School Boys Annual Shield.

Many thanks must go to the wonderful Bryanston catering team, who once again provided some excellent match teas, second to none of the school circuit, and to the outstanding ground staff, who have had to battle the elements on many occasions this year, for preparing the courts.
