Celebrating Harvest at Bryanston Prep
Last Friday Reverend Davis led our Harvest Service beautifully with a thought-provoking division of an apple to show how little of our precious planet produces all our food. The pile of donations for the Blandford Food Bank was a visual reminder of our own privilege.
Junior Choir had memorised many verses of Bright and Beautiful to the tune Royal Oak, singing "the tall trees in the Greenwood" with particular emphasis. The Pre-Prep signed and sang "Thank you Lord", prompting the first applause of the service. The whole school sang "We plough the fields, For the fruits of his creation", and "The Irish Blessing" with excellent intonation and loud confidence. Senior Choir's first performance of term was of "Look at the World" by John Rutter. Even after only three hours of singing together, they are beginning to find that thrilling sound of immaculate tuning and confident air-flow. We look forward to hearing them again at the Holy Trinity Church, Sloane Square, where they will perform as part of the annual Bryanston London Concert on Friday 14 October. They will be accompanied again on the organ by the extraordinarily talented Graham Scott.
