Bryanston Business Conference

Friday 20 June 2014 saw the second annual Bryanston Business Conference. A3 pupils were off-timetable for the day to hear talks from 15 speakers on all aspects of business.

Justin Urquhart Stewart (Sh ’72) got the conference off to a wonderfully entertaining start, addressing the whole year group on how the economic and business landscape has changed in recent years. In the small-group sessions – and this is just to scratch the surface – pupils heard about brand identity, finding gaps in the market, meeting customers’ expectations, buying policy, networking, pricing strategies, business ethics, entrepreneurial instincts and product testing.

The closing speaker was Rachel Bridge, author and Sunday Telegraph columnist, who gave us the benefit of her experience to run through the essential qualities of a successful entrepreneur.

Mark Christie, Head of Economics & Business, is grateful to the speakers for taking a day away from their businesses to inspire a new generation of potential businessmen & businesswomen.
