Greenpower challenge team qualify for International finals

It’s been a successful year for Greenpower at Bryanston, as Team Impulse qualifies for the international finals next month while also developing a new car for next season.

Over the past year a new Greenpower Challenge car has taken shape to compete in next year's F24+ category. Pupils have taken part in the design and construction of the vehicle, which sees significant changes from the original car. The new car uses a folded aluminium tub to which the main components are then attached. It will have better weight distribution and will include onboard telemetry and a multi-speed internal gearbox to maximise efficiency.

The existing car has developed into a speedy beast, competing very strongly at Goodwood in June with a top ten finish. It also went to Dunsfold in September and posted some fantastic lap times before suffering some unfortunate, minor, mechanical issues which dropped it down the rankings.

We are delighted that Team Impulse have qualified with their existing car for the international finals at Rockingham again this year in October.

Congratulations to everyone involved and we look forward to the finals, and beyond into next season, which should see the start of development of a new car that will be designed to be primarily plywood based, as well as the first race entry for Bryanston School in the F24+ category in car number two.
