Stations of the Cross at Bryanston

During the spring term a group of pupils created 14 beautiful Stations of the Cross for the Chaplaincy as part of the Pioneering programme. The Stations are just the latest in a number of outstanding pieces produced by the Church Art Pioneers, who meet each week under the watchful eye of inspirational art teacher, Helen Dean.

The Stations were used for a special service at the end of term to mark the season of Lent and were placed around the school, in locations both public and obscure. As part of the service a group of pupils and staff were led in prayer by the School Chaplain, the Reverend Andrew Haviland, who reflected on each of the images as they relate to our daily lives and situations in the world around us.

The Chaplain remarked, “It was a very moving experience for all of us who took part. The idea of being in familiar and safe surroundings whilst thinking about the events of Maundy Thursday and Good Friday, as well as praying for the trouble spots in the world, worked really well.”

The Stations have now been placed in the school church of St Martin for future use.
