Fesitve Junior Strings Concert is met with great enthusiasm
On Saturday 12 December, the Junior String School Christmas Concert took place in the beautiful and festive surroundings of the Cowley Room in the Main School.
The junior players opened the concert with Wilson and Ranger's Open String Samba. Hogmanay Reel which followed, transported us to a New Year's Eve in Scotland. There was then a joint item with the string orchestra performing Christmas comes again from Huws Jones's Christmas Round The World (A Carol Suite). The string orchestra also performed two movements from Balmages's Sweet Petite Winter Suite. To conclude, all string players joined forces in CS Scott's arrangement of the Hallelujah Chorus from Handel's Messiah. This was met with great enthusiasm from the audience who demanded to hear it again!
