Chamber Music Concert

On Wednesday 25 November, the Chamber Music Concert took place in the Elder Concert Hall.

Eight chamber groups performed a range of music opening with the first movement from Bach's double violin concerto with solo violinists Kate S and Freddie F. Sumei BS and Anthony H performed Histoire du tango; cafe 1930 by Piazzolla for guitar and flute. Sumei also played piano in a piano trio performing Crusell's Andante with Luke S and Clara W on clarinet.  Another piano trio (Samantha H, Rory H and Poppy H) played the sublime andante con moto tranquilo from Trio in D minor by Mendelssohn. The first movement from Borodin's sextet in D minor was given a committed performance by Johannes R, Isobel M, Alma OE, Eric H, Harry EW and Evie C. The brass ensemble (Max H, Luca S, Nikolas L, Rory H, Daniel L, George P) treated us to a performance of Locus Iste by Bruckner. Cairo F, Millie D, Iona M, Clara W and Bertie EW gave us an exciting performance of Mozart's Marriage of Figaro and Cairo and Bertie also performed in the saxophone group alongside Sophia E and Sophie FH in a performance of When the Saints Go Marching In.

Many congratulations go to all the performers who made this a memorable evening.
