Junior String School concert
Published: 30 June 2015
On Saturday 27 June, the Junior String School concert took place in the Mark Elder Concert Hall.
The concert opened with the Junior Players confidently performing Broadway or Bust by Kathy and David Blackwell and Into the Cauldron Cookpot by Lumsden and Attwood. More advanced players from the string orchestra then joined them in a most effective performance of Millipede Madness by Bernofsky. The String Orchestra then presented a sensitive rendition of the African-American spiritual Deep River which was followed by three movements; Basse Dance, Pavane and Sword Dance from Warlock's Capriol Suite.
Many congratulations go to all the children involved who have shown tremendous commitment and improvement in the weeks leading up to the concert.
