Valentine's Ball

The evening started with drinks in the main hall, during which Poppy Hosford treated the guests to some delightful piano music in a number of different styles. This was followed by a wonderful meal provided by Mike Thorne and Richard Ball and their excellent teams. When the meal had finished, the guests moved from Dorchester to Cowley, where the Dance Band played a set which included such numbers as Birdland, Chameleon and Beyond the Sea (with Sam White making his excellent Dance Band debut as vocalist). Doors to Manual then played a great set featuring some super variety, which was also received very well on the dance floor. Finally, the Dance Band returned to the stage to play again. Guests danced to such favourites as September, Sir Duke and I Feel Good. A splendid evening was had by all.
