Inspiring Governance

The role of a school governor has never been more important. The changing landscape of the educational world is interdependent with the rapidly evolving social and political climes that we find ourselves in. At Bryanston we aim for progress but, to be clear, progress for all. I am proud to have worked in both the state and independent sectors and passionately believe that there is more that unites us than divides us. Part of our role as governors is to learn from each other and create opportunities for collaboration as well as striving for excellence within our governing bodies. I am excited to see the positive changes that Bryanston staff can help to create in the future.”

Bryanston is the first UK independent school to sign Inspiring Governance’s School Governor Champions Charter.  In so doing, we are making a commitment to encourage and support our staff to make an active difference to our local community. 

At Bryanston, our priority is on the individual, and we extend that focus to individuals in neighbouring schools and colleges. We are steadfast in our approach to cohesion and are excited to strengthen our allegiances with other schools, however different or however similar. We believe that we are better together and that our staff can be part of driving development, creating resilient schools in a time of change.

We aim to use our guiding principles of creativity, breadth of ambition, individuality, humanity and family, and resilience to challenge issues and pursue excellence.
