COVID-19: GUIDELINES FOR VISITORS
The safety and security of Bryanston staff, students and our audience is of paramount importance and we take this responsibility very seriously. In light of the COVID-19 pandemic we have decided to cancel all Easter holiday courses.
The aim of our holiday courses is to provide a combination of focus and fun so that your child can enjoy themselves, make new friends, and at the same time improve their individual sporting talents.
Bryanston's 400 acres are an impressive setting for the sports courses and include extensive playing fields bordered by the river Stour. The new sports hall provides excellent facilities. Overall the grounds, combined with the superb indoor and outdoor facilities Bryanston has to offer, provides the perfect environment for participants to focus on developing their skills and enjoy their sport.
We now accept Childcare vouchers from certain providers for our courses. For further information, please contact us using the link below:
If you have any questions, please contact Sam Tonks and Cyril Hawes on 01258 484677.
Safety and Supervision
The safety of the children is of paramount importance. All coaches have professional coaching qualifications. Coaching will be in groups small enough to ensure individual attention but large enough to enable the children to practise unit skills. All other physical activities will be supervised by appropriately qualified staff. When not being coached, the children will be in the care of experienced staff who will look after all aspects of welfare and enjoyment as well as providing a sympathetic ear when required.
Meals and Refreshments
All meals will be provided in the Dining Hall where there is a variety of healthy options, both hot and cold, including a salad bar. Snacks and drinks can be purchased from our Café. There will be refreshments breaks between coaching sessions. All players are asked to bring a water bottle with them.
In addition to the high level of coaching the children are also given the opportunity to participate in other activities. This not only gives them the chance to experience a range of pursuits but also provides a break from the main sport interest.Activities may include kayaking on the river, climbing on our superb purpose-built climbing tower, squash, swimming and badminton.
Dress Code and Equipment
A full kit list for each sport will be provided prior to the start of the course. Suitable attire for each course will need to be worn with children bringing their own cricket bat, tennis racket, hockey stick as appropriate. For the riding course participants need to have their own horse/pony.
Summer Riding Course (Ages 8-15)
Riders will need to have their own horse/pony, which will be stabled in the beautiful Georgian Grade 1 listed, red-brick stable block. Riders should provide their own feed and supplements for their horse/pony. Bedding and hay will be provided.
In order for the coaches to construct a plan for the course to suit all children, all parents will be asked to fill out a form shortly after booking. The form will ask details of the ability and experience of the rider as well as some details of the pony itself.
Sophie is the head of riding here at Bryanston - she started with us in September 2018.
She is a BHS Stage 5 Performance coach and Stable Manager with experience working with a wide variety of students and horses from all equestrian disciplines.
She started life in the world of Horse Trials and went on to spend time in Bermuda, Canada and the USA coaching and learning about American style hunters and equitation.
Sophie has now found a new love in the form of dressage and has thoroughly enjoyed the challenges of training and competing her own horse 'Samberdivo'. Together they have represented the Dorset and South West regional teams and been placed at the Regionals.
Sophie and the equestrian team to welcome all participants; we are looking forward to you joining us at Bryanston.
We will be working on improving your riding skills and helping you perfect your bond with your mount. You will get time to focus on dressage and ride through a test; show jump using our fantastic set of jumps with interesting fillers and train over our on-site cross-country course. We will also give you the opportunity to train for your BHS challenge awards and, if you are successful, you will be presented with a certificate and medal!
