The aim of our holiday courses is to provide a combination of focus and fun so that your child can enjoy themselves, make new friends, and at the same time improve their individual sporting talents.
Bryanston's 400 acres are an impressive setting for the sports courses and include extensive playing fields bordered by the river Stour. The new sports hall provides excellent facilities. Overall the grounds, combined with the superb indoor and outdoor facilities Bryanston has to offer, provides the perfect environment for participants to focus on developing their skills and enjoy their sport.
We offer a wide range of courses to keep you or your child occupied throughout both the Easter and Summer holidays. There is something for everyone so don't delay, book your holiday course now.

Safety and Supervision
The safety of the children is of paramount importance. All coaches have professional coaching qualifications. Coaching will be in groups small enough to ensure individual attention but large enough to enable the children to practise unit skills. All other physical activities will be supervised by appropriately qualified staff. When not being coached, the children will be in the care of experienced staff who will look after all aspects of welfare and enjoyment as well as providing a sympathetic ear when required.
Meals and Refreshments
All meals will be provided in the Dining Hall where there is a variety of healthy options, both hot and cold, including a salad bar. Snacks and drinks can be purchased from our Café. There will be refreshments breaks between coaching sessions. All players are asked to bring a water bottle with them.
In addition to the high level of coaching the children are also given the opportunity to participate in other activities. This not only gives them the chance to experience a range of pursuits but also provides a break from the main sport interest. Activities may include kayaking on the river, climbing on our superb purpose-built climbing tower, squash, swimming and badminton.
Dress Code and Equipment
A full kit list for each sport will be provided prior to the start of the course. Suitable attire for each course will need to be worn with children bringing their own cricket bat, tennis racket, hockey stick as appropriate. For the riding course participants need to have their own horse/pony.

Swimming Crash Course
Monday 1 – Friday 5 August

The week-long course is Swim England Learn to Swim Stage 1, 2 & 3 combined.
Swim England Learn to Swim Stage 1 helps to build water confidence, while introducing water safety skills and the basic skills needed to build swimming ability.
Learners will develop basic safety awareness, learn basic movement skills and water confidence skills.
They will also be introduced to a structured class setting. Swimmers may use flotation equipment, such as armbands and floats, throughout this stage.
Swim England Learn to Swim Stage 2 sees swimmers develop streamlining to their strokes and travel without their feet on the floor, using a recognised leg kick.
Swimmers are also introduced to aquatic breathing and taught to make safe entries into the water, including jumping.
They will develop basic floating and learn how to rotate to regain an upright position without support. All travel must be achieved without the use of flotation equipment, though buoyancy aids may be used when swimmers aren’t travelling.
During stage 3, swimmers will develop their kicks, on both their front and their back. They streamline through push and glides, whilst also swimming underwater.
Swimmers will develop safe entries into the water, including submersion, and travel up to 10 metres on their front and back. Water safety knowledge and rotation skills will also be progressed.
Intermediate level will include stages 4-7. Children should be able to swim the width of the pool comfortably which is 12.5 metres.
Swim England Learn to Swim Stage 4 sees swimmers perfect their leg kicks for all four strokes and further develop push and glides, while also being introduced to sculling.
They will develop an understanding of buoyancy through a range of skills and should swim 10 metres to the Swim England Expected Standards.
During Swim England Learn to Swim Stage 5, swimmers will develop their skills in treading water, learn the correct arm pulls for all four strokes and learn how to do handstands and somersaults.
This means they will develop their technique and perform all strokes to the Swim England Expected Standards. The emphasis is on ensuring all work done in the previous stages is developed further.
Swim England Learn to Swim Stage 6 teaches swimmers how to prepare for exercise, while developing an efficient technique for all four strokes and further developing surface dives.
The effective swimming skills taught include coordination, breathing and an understanding of water safety.
Within this stage, swimmers will work on all the other strokes, including streamlining, improving their technique with both their arms and their legs.
Swim England Learn to Swim Stage 7 focuses on fully developing all four swimming strokes, as well as building stamina and improving diving skills.
Swimmers should develop a quality stroke technique for up to 100 metres, incorporating the skills they have learnt throughout the stages and combining them to develop a linked routine.
