Easy Listening Concert is a charming evening of music

A lovely Easy Listening Concert took place on Wednesday in the Elder Concert Hall, featuring mainly our intermediate and younger players, although not exclusively.

The Rhythm and Blues Band (coached by Dugald Clark) started the concert with Mad About the Boy with vocal soloist Hannah M. Their second piece was Something’s Got a Hold on Me featuring vocal soloist Poppy T. A large guitar group of 13 players followed (including their coach, Fiona Richardson) with a performance of Sir Duke by Stevie Wonder arranged by Bill Swick. Izzy S sang a lovely solo called Still Hurting by Jason Robert-Browne accompanied by Graham Scott on the piano. The Cello Ensemble played Henry Mancicni’s Moon River featuring Ottilie T as the solo cellist. The flute trio played Trio No. 1 by James Hook and newly coached by Sally Stocks. The Concerto Orchestra (coached by Christina Scott) ended the concert with a super performance of Vivaldi’s Autumn from the Four Seasons. The violin soloist was Lingling BS.

Many congratulations to all of the players, soloists, groups and coaches who produced a charming evening of music.
