A2 music scholars perform together for the last time

The final scholars concert for the A2s took place on Wednesday 27 September in the Elder Concert Hall and it was a very high standard indeed.

James R started the concert with a performance of Beethoven’s Sonata in F Minor, Op. 2 No.1 – I. Allegro. Charlotte H sang Come away, Death by Quilter.

Bertie EW played Weber’s Concertino in E-flat on the clarinet. Rory H performed Rustle of Spring by Sinding on the piano. James R returned to sing Finzi’s Let Us Garlands Bring numbers IV. O Mistress Mine and V It was a Lover and his Lass. Samantha H played Estrellita by Ponce/Heifetz on the violin. Lotte T sang Adelaide by Beethoven and Charlotte H returned to perform the flute piece Nocturne by Gaubert.

All of the performances were beautifully accompanied by Graham Scott. Although this is the last time the A2s perform as a group, they will all be performing as soloists in concerts throughout the year for their ARSM exams.
