C Classicists enjoy cultural delights of Naples

The Classics Department took 28 C pupils to the bay of Naples for four days over the Easter holidays.

It was a jam-packed, fun-filled time exploring the sites of Pompeii, Herculaneum and many wonderful pieces of art in the Naples Archaeological Museum. There was a trek up to the top of Mount Vesuvius as well as the Villa Iovis on the island of Capri, and the weather was even good enough for a dip in the sea! Local cultural highlights included pizza making at a cookery school and a Tarantella show involving everyone dancing at some point in the evening!

Huge credit goes to the pupils for their energy and enthusiasm at the end of a tiring term and to Doctor Fearnley, Mr Fowler-Watt, Mr Herman and Miss Packenham-Walsh for giving their time, care and good humour throughout.
