A fantastic week of Athletics

On Thursday C and D pupils competed in the North Dorset team trials. All athletes performed brilliantly, with Eleanor P, Clancy B, Frankie S, Harry H, Rory W, Oscar L, Lennon HW, Will J, Monty R and Gabe G winning their events and the D boys relay team winning the 4x100m. A big thank you goes to Harry M, Zanti DR and George L for their help in running the event. Overall, the D girls and the C girls both came 3rd and the D boys and C boys came 2nd. As this was a team event, athlete of the match goes to the 4x100m D relay team of Lennon HW, Monty H, Will J and Gabe G. Well done.

On Saturday a group of athletes represented North Dorset in the Dorset Schools' Championships. Of the 30 athletes who qualified for this round, six have been selected to represent Dorset at the South West Schools' Championships next weekend. Those athletes are George L for discus, Frankie S and James S for 400m, Gabe G for 200m and long jump, Lennon HW for hurdles and Tom O for 100m, in which Tom ran the English Schools qualifying time, one of only three people in Dorset to have run this qualifying time this season! For this performance Tom has been awarded athlete of the match. Well done to everyone who competed.

All athletes should be incredibly proud of themselves and they have really earned their medals and positions so far this season. Congratulations to you all.
