Percussion Concert

On Wednesday 16 March, the Elder Hall played host to this year's Percussion concert. Pupils from all years took part in what must be the broadest range of material to date.

Miles W and Rose H both played solo items on the vibraphone and marimba respectively, as well as performing within the Bryanston's brand new Steel Band.

The Samba Band, led by new drum/percussion teacher Naomi M, is another new group featuring mostly pupils in D and C who performed Samba Marcha, which fused Latin-American and funk rhythms in an exciting display of team playing.

The Senior Percussion Group, featuring Felix F, James E, Angus FT and William E, performed an impressive snare drum piece entitled Four Sure and a highly entertaining body percussion piece called Body Lotion.

The Steel Band rounded off the concert with the traditional Caribbean piece Trinidad Blue Basin and an arrangement of the classic Jason Mraz tune, I'm Yours.

Well done to all the pupils who took part in this fabulous concert.
