SATIPS Orchestra Day

Bryanston welcomed musicians from prep schools for the SATIPS Orchestra Day on Tuesday 6 October.

This year saw over 110 pupils join us for the day from eleven prep schools to rehearse a full orchestra and sectional pieces before performing in a concert to parents in the Concert Hall. Rehearsals were taken by Bryanston staff: Richard Baker (percussion), Dugald Clark (saxophones), Elaine Close (brass),  Isabel White (woodwind), Fiona Murphy (cellos), and Christina Scott (strings). The saxophones started the concert off with Secret Agents, followed by the brass group who played The Blues. The strings then played Velocity and woodwind performed Yesterday. The last group to play was percussion with an arrangement of St Thomas. The orchestra, conducted by Duncan Emerson, rounded off the concert superbly with Scorpion by Richard Saucedo.

Well done to all the musicians who took part and many thanks also to the Bryanston pupils who helped in rehearsals and played in the concert.
