Bryanston welcomes new Deputy Head Academic

The start of the new academic year has many new faces at Bryanston, including Dr David James, our new Deputy Head Academic (DHA).

As DHA David will have overarching responsibility for all matters academic at Bryanston. He brings with him a breadth of experience of schools in general, as well as particular experience of the IB.

David joins us from Wellington College, where he oversaw the introduction of the IB Diploma. While at Wellington his other duties included running conferences, directing the Sunday Times Festival of Education, as well as teaching and tutoring in a boys’ boarding house.

In addition to his many years of teaching experience, David has had secondments with the International Baccalaureate Organisation (IBO) and at the Department for Education, and is also an experienced ISI inspector.

David said, ‘I am hugely excited about joining Bryanston: it has an outstanding reputation amongst independent schools, and prides itself on being a warm and welcoming community for everyone who works here.  I look forward to meeting parents, pupils, and all those who contribute to this very special school.'

We are delighted to welcome David and his family to Bryanston.
