An introduction to Bryanston sixth form

For the past week next year’s lower sixth, both returning pupils and those new to the school, have been at Bryanston for their Sixth Form Induction Programme.
The programme aims to give pupils a deeper insight into the A level or IB Diploma subjects they will be studying next year and help them make their final course choices, as well as introducing them all to life as a sixth former at Bryanston.
However, the Sixth Form Induction Programme is about more than the academic. As well as learning about the enrichment and co-curricular opportunities available, pupils also take part in a full PSRE programme for the week. A range of talks encourage pupils to consider their own actions and the impact they have on themselves and those around them.
The PSRE elements of the Sixth Form Induction Programme are designed to help pupils make informed decisions as they move into the adult world. Talks include:
- Vita Nova: delivered by trained staff and volunteers who have experience of problematic drugs and alcohol use. The talk aims to raise awareness of drug and alcohol issues and empower pupils to make informed choices.
- A Night to Remember: delivered by the local police. This focuses on how to stay safe when socialising out with friends and some of the things that can go wrong.
We have enjoyed working with our future sixth formers and wish them all a happy and safe summer.
