Bryanston pupils achieve excellent GCSE results

Pupils and staff at Bryanston are celebrating another year of very pleasing GCSE results with 80% of all examinations marked at A*-B.

There were extremely strong performances across the full range of academic subjects and 27 of our pupils scored A* or A in nine or more subjects. In addition, one pupil achieved the outstanding result of 12 A*s and a further two pupils gained 11 A*s and one A.

As we prepare for the official opening of our new Music School we were especially pleased to see 100% of Music entrants graded A* or A. The sciences also enjoyed another strong year with 93% of Physics, 88% of Biology and 81% of Chemistry entries graded at A* or A.

The Head, Sarah Thomas, commented, “The GCSE curriculum seeks to impose a conformity of measurement upon the national cohort. But we all know that pupils are individuals and that not everything of value is easily measured. So the pleasure of these excellent results for me is in seeing individual pupils, across our pleasingly broad church, deliver their very best and in many cases exceed expectations, their own as well as ours. Well done to the Bryanston GCSE cohort of 2014 upon some very pleasing outcomes and I am much looking forward to seeing you each flourish in the sixth form!"
