Merger announcement

This significant day in the history of both schools is very much something to celebrate. Bryanston has always been adaptable, forward-looking, and ambitious. The School will always stand tall as a strong advocate for independent education, boarding and co-education, and for the educational philosophy in which we so strongly believe.

Headmaster of Bryanston School Mr Mortimer commented: "I want to thank all those people who have worked so hard over the past few months to ensure that everything was in place for today’s merger. It was no small undertaking, and it has required a great deal of effort to meet the deadline, the final hurdle being last week’s approval by the Department of Education, thus confirming that the merger complied with the standards of professional due diligence required when two schools merge.

"Of course, there is more to do, and there are exciting plans for the future of Bryanston Knighton House under the leadership of Will Lockett. We will nurture and build upon Knighton’s strong foundations, and I can reassure those of you with a connection to Knighton, both past and present, that it will remain the friendly, family-focused and child-centred school it has always been.

"After the disruption and challenges of the past 18 months, the new school year is even more full of hope and optimism than usual, and we very much look forward to seeing the pupils again soon."
