Bryanston pupils return from a busy Easter break

C French linguists visited the beautiful city of Paris. They enjoyed a mix of French lessons in a lycée, cultural visits and sightseeing, whilst also benefitting from staying with some very hospitable local families which allowed them to fully immerse themselves in the French language and culture. The host families were extremely complimentary about the Bryanston pupils who proved themselves to be positive, engaged and enthusiastic about improving their French. A great time was had by all.

The annual D history trip saw 32 pupils successfully complete a tour of the WWI Battlefields, visiting the Somme on the first day and the Ypres Salient on the second day. Their guide, Steve Roberts, made the visit a fascinating insight into life for the soldiers in the trenches and the problems that they faced at the Battle of the Somme. The pupils also attended the Menin Gate ceremony where D's Alsu Kocak and William de Salis laid a wreath in remembrance on behalf of the whole school.

The Junior ski trip to Leysin, Switzerland saw 26 C and D pupils take part in a variety of actives both on and off the slopes, from ice dancing and curling to volley ball and, of course, skiing. Tyler Reusswig proved to be the most impressive skier of the week, with the best improvements coming from Annie Frampton Hobbs and Elisei Sergevnin, both going from beginner to red run in a week. All the skiers were extremely well behaved throughout, as was noted by the instructors and the staff running the trip. Organiser Nick Mills said, "The trip was an absolute pleasure to run with such amazing pupils".
