Art Department welcomes world-renowned fine artist Ian Murphy
The world-renowned fine artist and educator Ian Murphy visited Bryanston for a two-day workshop with C art pupils and art scholars at the start of this week.
Ian is best known for his powerful and tonal drawings, as well as his atmospheric mixed media oil paintings of architectural places.
Head of Art Doug Knight commented: “Due to the gradual easing of Covid-19 restrictions, this was the first time in a long time that we’ve been able to provide a workshop like this, and it was fantastic to see the enthusiasm and engagement from our pupils.
“Our programme of workshops helps motivate our pupils and continues to provide them with a different way of thinking. Also, they ultimately help to strengthen their art college applications.
“We are very grateful to Ian for giving up his time to deliver such a fast-paced and challenging workshop. Ian first came to the School two years ago and we were delighted to welcome him back for another workshop.”
