A great week for Bryanston cross country

Bryanston's reputation as a premier cross country school continues to grow as our athletes once again showed their quality in the Dorset Schools Championships last week.

This annual event gives runners a chance to qualify to represent Dorset at the South West Schools Championships in February.

Senior club captains Charlie George and Levke Salander put in outstanding performances to place 8th and 10th respectively, qualifying them both for consideration in the Dorset team. Bryanston also has other runners in contention for Dorset squad selection - seniors' team members Emily de Salis, Alice Thomas, Dan Head and Oli Payne and intermediate runners  Lucy Anderson, Lizzie Freeman and Harry Mortimer.

Bryanston put in a stellar performance at the Downside Trophy competition on Saturday, with both our senior girls and senior boys taking first place in the team events, and our intermediate boys' and girls' teams both finishing runners up in their categories.  The senior boys' A team were superb, all placing in the top 15. The senior girls were equally as impressive, all finishing in the top 20. There were very promising displays at intermediate level with Harry Mortimer in 4th for the boys and Lucy Anderson our top finisher in 7th.

Bryanston will once again host the prestigious Ken Baily races on Thursday, with an expected turn out of over 600 runners. Good luck to everyone taking part.
