Increase in the top A level grades despite unprecedented circumstances

We are delighted to report that our A*-C grade percentage has considerably improved from last year, moving from 76.3% to an impressive 89%. Similarly, our A*-A percentage has seen a 20% increase on 2019, with 43.3% of our A2 pupils getting the top grades. 

Deputy Head (Academic) Dr David James remarked that: “These grades show just how hard our A2 pupils have worked over the two years. Sadly, they were unable to prove themselves in the examination hall, but so many of them will now feel vindicated that the effort they put in since they joined the sixth form has been recognised by the awarding bodies. Our results also show how well our staff know our pupils, and we are delighted that, overwhelmingly, the grades we submitted to the boards were confirmed today.”

Headmaster Mark Mortimer also congratulated the outgoing A2s:

“These results, along with the excellent IB scores, are a wonderful endorsement of this outstanding year group’s ability and commitment. Most importantly, whatever their individual grades, the vast majority have fulfilled their potential and leave Bryanston ready for their next challenge, be that university or the workplace. I am very proud of them all, and hope that they are able to return, sometime soon, to celebrate their success.

I also want to pay tribute to the teachers who work with such professionalism, enthusiasm and dedication to prepare the pupils. This is their success too.”
