Music scholar awarded choral scholarship to Trinity College, Cambridge
Bryanston music scholar and former Salisbury Cathedral chorister, Sumei B-S, has won a Choral Scholarship with the choir of Trinity College, Cambridge.
Voted the ‘fifth best choir in the world’ the choir regularly makes recordings and tours overseas.
Director of Music Stephen Williams said, ‘Anyone who has heard Sumei sing will not be even a little surprised. She possesses not only a beautiful sound but also a rock-solid technique and outstanding musicianship. Alongside such great gifts she is also one of the hardest working musicians we have had the pleasure to nurture.’
Sumei is currently enjoying a gap year as a music assistant at St Paul’s Cathedral School and will take up her place at Cambridge in October 2020.
