Bryanston welcomes the Reverend Jo Davis

On Thursday 10 October, Bryanston held a Welcoming and Licensing Service for the Reverend Jo Davis, School Chaplain.

The service was held in St Anthony’s Chapel at Bryanston, and welcomed more than 30 people. Headmaster Mark Mortimer and Head of Boarding Claire Miller both attended, as well as other senior management staff and Hsms.

The service began with hymns and a Bible reading by Claire Miller, followed by a secondary reading from A2 pupil Hannah M.

Mark Mortimer officially presented Revd Jo Davis to the Bishop of Sherborne, the Right Reverend Karen Gorham. Mark said: “Bishop Karen, I present to you whom we have chosen to serve as Chaplain and ask you to license her.”

After being licensed, Revd Jo Davis was then asked to take oaths to the Lord Bishop of Salisbury and Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. Following this, the Bishop read out the License and handed this to Jo, as well as anointing her with the oil of Chrism. The new School Chaplain then led several prayers with those taking part in the service.

The school community is delighted to welcome Jo and her family to Bryanston and wishes them many happy years here.
