Music pupils celebrate exam success
There were many smiling faces in the Music Department as pupils received their practical exam results at the beginning of the summer term. A third of pupils achieved Distinctions in their ABRSM exams, with a number of notable successes at Grade 8.
Poppy O-E and Lingling B-S scored 144 and 140 respectively in their Grade 8 violin exams. Freddie F (organ), Annabel S (piano), Luke S (clarinet) and May P (singing) were also awarded Distinctions at Grade 8, with Eleanor P also attaining that level in her Trinity piano exam.
Stephen Williams, Director of Music commented: “What a joy to be celebrating these pupils and their superb achievements among a generally stellar set of results. They have received first-class guidance and encouragement from their talented instrumental teachers and have put in many hours of dedicated and determined practice.”
