Success in Ten Tors Challenge

Over the weekend of 12 and 13 May two groups of Bryanston pupils took part in the Ten Tors Challenge.

The Ten Tors Challenge is an annual event that sees 2,400 individuals hike across Dartmoor visiting checkpoints at ten tors along the way. Each team of six needs to be self-sufficient for the two days of the hike, carrying everything they need to survive, including an overnight camp on the moor.

This year Bryanston entered two teams, one each in the 35-mile and 45-mile challenges. A tough two days on Dartmoor tested the pupils more than they thought and the event was a huge achievement for all involved. Owing to injury one team member unfortunately had to pull out. After battling through the pain on Saturday, they realised they were holding their team back and made the difficult decision to stop on Saturday evening.
