Double success at South West Schools Kayak Championships
Published: 1 May 2018
The canoe squad travelled to Exeter on Sunday for the third annual South West Schools Kayak Championships.
The squad competed against crews from other schools, including Dauntsey’s, Blundell’s and Mount Kelly. The team of two crews did well in the 500-metre and 200-metre sprint events, with James L and Felix H coming second, and Minglin L and Louis E finishing in fourth place to win the Schools Sprint Team Trophy.
In the afternoon the competitors raced over a five-mile course with two portages. James and Felix were second, and Finn W and Orlando A came sixth, which was enough to secure the Schools Marathon Team Trophy as well.
Well done to all you all, it is brilliant to walk away with not one, but two trophies.
