Pippa Quarrell and Laurent Johnson
Pippa Quarrell
Pippa started teaching History at Bryanston 25 years ago, having taught in the state sector before that. For eleven years she was Head of History, and then she moved to be Head of Kitebrook House, a Cotswolds prep school. Five years later she returned to Bryanston and is now one of the school's two Senior Tutors.
In this post Pippa runs the staff appraisal system, arranges the allocation of pupils to tutors each year, and assists with the training of all tutors. She has two children and is married to the housemaster of Beechwood.
Laurent Johnson
Laurent is the Head of Modern Languages and a Senior Tutor at Bryanston. He has previously served as both Head of French and Head of German and was the Beechwood House Resident during his first years at the School.
After graduating from Oxford University Laurent had a spell in marketing before finding his true vocation in education. He formerly taught at Bournemouth Grammar School and has coached hockey, tennis and cricket, helped with RDA, coached LAMDA and has taken part in over twenty residential pupil trips, most of them in Europe.
In his free time Laurent is very interested in the arts, cryptic crosswords, DIY projects and Lego. He is also a long-suffering Tottenham Hotspur fan.
