OBs turn out for England in Six Nations opener

This month, Bryanston’s history of developing sporting talent has been highlighted once again through a raft of OB call-ups to the new year rugby squad collections.

Last weekend brought the opening matches of the Six Nations and with it OB Charlie Ewels (C ’13) starting for England. Alongside Charlie in the England squad was Ollie Devoto (C ’12), who started the tournament on the bench; both players will be hoping to push England to victory in the remainder of the competition. Bryanston is also represented in the Scotland team through Henry Pyrgos (Sh ’07), who received the call-up for the Six Nations squad earlier this year.

Alongside the senior competition, scrum half Ellis Bevan (P ’18) received a call-up to the U20 Wales team, who kick off their campaign against Italy later this month. Closer to home, Frankie Smith (C ’19) earns a place in the Bath United squad as he slots in on the wing, while current pupils Teyi A and Will F have places in the Bath U18 squad and are looking to follow in the footsteps of these OBs; they and the School have high hopes for the future.

Bryanston is very proud of the achievements of its former pupils, and this only acts as motivation for our current pupils to reach the same heights. We look forward to seeing what they can achieve in the year ahead.
