Spanish trip to Salamanca 2018

Seventeen B pupils took part in a residential visit to Salamanca over the spring half-term break.

Everyone had a fantastic time. Pupils enjoyed spending time with their host families and practising their language skills. The highlights of the visit included a day in La Alberca (a medieval, Castilian village, granted world heritage status by UNESCO) where we came across an ancient traditional carnival celebration, we saw bulls and enjoyed the local specialities. We also enjoyed a fantastic afternoon of basketball, an energetic evening dancing flamenco and a fun karaoke night where everyone showed off their singing skills in Spanish. Pupils took part in interesting language lessons, enjoyed the traditional Spanish breakfast of chocolate con churros and took in the views and history of Salamanca’s 800-year old university.

Mr Gutiérrez would like to say gracias to the 17 pupils who made the visit a success and muchas gracias to Mr McClary and Miss Mateo Sanz for their help and contribution.

We look forward to next year’s visit.
