Bryanston pupils' Ten Tors Challenge success

A team of six C pupils enjoyed superb conditions for the 2016 Ten Tors Challenge.

The 2016 Ten Tors event took place on Dartmoor last week involving 2,500 participants aged between 14 and 19 years old.

A team of six Bryanston C pupils beat the Bryanston record (set by last year's team) by reaching the finish line at 12:10pm on the Sunday afternoon. Although the Ten Tors Challenge is not a race, Bryanston came in fourth in their group of 16, highlighting the continuing improvement in performance each year.

It must be said, however, that this was a particularly good year, as the ground and weather was predominately dry (in Dartmoor terms) and the visibility was excellent for navigation. Those pupils who have completed the challenge in previous years can rest assured that, although they were slightly slower, they definitely had a more challenging event.

Congratulations to the 2016 Bryanston team: Tom B, Freya C, Will S, Ollie G, Archie R and team captain Ollie S.
