Diva Opera brings Don Pasquale to life at Bryanston

We were delighted to welcome Diva Opera on 22 April as part of Bryanston’s Professional Concert Series.

The small ensemble, comprising five soloists with nimble piano accompaniment from Music Director Bryan Evans, invited a group of Bryanston pupils to an afternoon session. During the session members of the school’s advanced choir gained a deeper insight into the story behind Donizetti's Don Pasquale, as well as a glimpse of the performance to come that evening, before joining with Diva Opera to learn a chorus piece from the opera.

The evening’s performance of Don Pasquale was enjoyed by an appreciative audience as they followed the story of an old man who wishes to disinherit his nephew and find himself a wife. However, marriage proves to be not quite what he expects as he is tricked into marrying a different person. The semi-staged production was performed with vigour and energy.

Thank you to Diva Opera for a wonderful evening of music and for sharing their knowledge and expertise with our pupils.
