Our fundraising activities support a variety of projects, from scholarships and bursaries to an ongoing programme to refurbish existing facilities. These pages detail some of our current and very recent projects.
Bryanston believes in helping talented children from any background attend the School. Currently up to 24 scholarships are offered each year in recognition of excellence in Music, Art, ICT, DT, Sport and all-round academic ability. Many of these scholarships are 'topped-up' with means-tested bursaries and nearly 25% of the School's 650 pupils receive some sort of financial assistance. However, while Bryanston allocates 8.5% of its operating budget for this purpose the demand for funding is substantial and growing.
We believe that increasing funds for bursaries is particularly important, both for the individuals involved and the wider life of the School, and this is now the main focus of our fundraising. They enable those who might not otherwise be able to attend the School to do so, and are often given to current parents who suffer financial difficulties partway through their child’s time here, preventing their having to leave.
During the summer of 2007, fifteen recent leavers took part in a two week telephone campaign to raise money specifically for bursaries at Bryanston. They called nearly 800 OBs, almost half of whom pledged a donation. The callers also took the opportunity to discuss careers, get an update on OB news, and tell people about forthcoming events.
We were absolutely delighted with the response, with gifts and pledges totalling £125,000. The initial campaign target was £100,000, which with other monies raised this year will fund one full bursary.

Our long-term goal is to create an endowment fund to increase the provision of bursaries and to secure the future of the bursaries programme here.
