After years of planning, the School broke ground in 2005 for the new Sanger Science and Maths building designed by Sir Michael Hopkins. The building has recently been completed and pupils have moved in and started enjoying the new facilities; the official opening take place in September 2007. For further information, click here.
With all pupils studying Maths, Physics, Chemistry and Biology during their first three years at Bryanston and 60% of Sixth Formers studying at least one of these subjects, the demand for a new Science and Maths building has never been greater. The old facility, constructed in 1959 when Bryanston was significantly smaller, needed to be replaced.
The new building features 15 state-of-the-art laboratories, Maths classrooms, expanded assignment rooms with extensive networked computer provisions, and an 120-seat lecture theatre fully equipped for scientific and multimedia presentations.
During the construction, new classrooms were built on the plateau and between the Coade Hall and the Don Potter Art School to accommodate Physics and Biology. Now, in addition to the new facility for Science and Maths, Bryanston has substantially increased the teaching space available for other academic departments.
